Presidential Classroom
Join other NSHSS members in Washington, D.C., through Presidential Classroom, an extraordinary academic and leadership development program for outstanding high school students. NSHSS and Presidential Classroom have joined together to promote and recognize academic excellence and leadership. Presidential Classroom is the nation's premier civic education program offering unprecedented access to the federal government and the people who shape public policy. During each week-long program, students from the United States and abroad interact with Washington insiders, observe Congress in action, visit the renowned sites of our nation's capital and debate key issues with their peers.

Projects Abroad
Projects Abroad offers volunteer opportunities in countries you may never expect to visit, where you can make a real difference right before your eyes. NSHSS member Casey Czajka of Richmond, Virginia, is a recipient of a Projects Abroad full program scholarship, which enabled her to travel to Senegal, Africa, this year, where she taught English to children. Read about Casey's Sengalese experience here.
All NSHSS members and their families are eligible for a ten percent discount on Projects Abroad programs. You can print out a discount coupon in the member area of the website under "Documents." Projects Abroad also offers a program scholarship competition for NSHSS members: download the scholarship application. Visit the Projects Abroad website for more information and read NSHSS member Kristy Gonyer's account of her Projects Abroad trip to Peru last year.
