NSHSS Student Council 2007-08

We are pleased to introduce our Student Council members for the 2007-08 academic year. These outstanding college students give advice based on their own experiences and offer information on Society programs, scholarships, and activities throughout the upcoming year. Membership on the Student Council provides an important leadership opportunity beyond high school. Members graduating from high school in 2008 will be eligible to apply for next year's Council.  We are especially pleased to include a "senior council" of previous council members who are continuing to serve and provide advise to members as well as new council members. To contact a student council member, send your email message to studentcouncil@nshss.org and be sure to include the council member's name in the subject line of the email message.

Council Member

Eric Wang
Duluth, GA
University of Pennsylvania

Eric is a National Scholar Award recipient who was selected as one of sixteen students in his state for the Georgia Governor's Honors Program in Latin.  He received his school's Principal's Award as the student who "best exemplifies standards of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and community service."  He is also a published poet.

“As a previous leader of several clubs, including Model United Nations, National Latin Honor Society, and Student Government, and as as a member of activities as diverse as orchestra and fencing, I will be able to help communicate opportunities that students may not have previously know or been exposed to and promote new ideas.  I will also be able to provide through the hindsight advice that may help members navigate their high school years more successfully."
