NSHSS Student Council 2007-08
We are pleased to introduce our Student Council members
for the 2007-08 academic year. These outstanding college
students give advice based on their own experiences and offer
information on Society programs, scholarships, and activities
throughout the upcoming year. Membership on the Student Council
provides an important leadership opportunity beyond high school.
Members graduating from high school in 2008 will be eligible to
apply for next year's Council. We are especially pleased
to include a "senior council" of previous council members who
are continuing to serve and provide advise to members as well as
new council members. To contact a student council member, send your email message
to
studentcouncil@nshss.org and be sure to include
the council member's name in the subject line of the email
message.

Julie Dunlap

Vanderbilt University
Julie interned at Vanderbilt University Center for Medical
Research studying cures for multiple sclerosis, and plans to
attend medical school in the future. She held a number
of leadership positions in school, including mentoring a
local teen help group on issues of alcohol, drug, and sexual
abuses. She herself has succeeded in rising
above difficult circumstances through hard work and
dedication.
Julie quotes William G. Bennis, "Leadership is the capacity
to translate vision into reality," adding, "I know I can
grow as a person from serving on the Student Council, and
will do all it takes to help in the growth of NSHSS as
well."
