Dear Members,
Congratulations on your acceptance to the NSHSS. You are among the
best and brightest in the nation. As a member of NSHSS, you will have
the opportunity to interact with others across the country who strive
for excellence in scholastics and service. There are opportunities to
attend events around the country, share newsworthy items with other
high school students, participate in the member showcase, participate
in service projects, submit articles for the Journal and apply for
scholarships. NSHSS has a super website with loads of information
that is helpful to high school students.
I feel fortunate to have been nominated and accepted into membership.
It was also quite an honor to serve on the Student Council. People do
take notice when you have membership in NSHSS on your resume. I feel
membership in NSHSS was influential in my recognition as a scholarly
leader and has provided additional opportunities for me in college.
The Society has the prestige of the Nobel name behind it.
Again, congratulations on your acceptance into NSHSS. I wish you the
best in your high school and college years. You're on the right track.

Dear Members,
When I first joined, NSHSS I didn't know what to expect, but
after reading about the Society online and talking to my mother, I
decided to join because I thought it would be different from most
organizations for high school students that are just in name only. In
addition to being a very prestigious honor, the NSHSS has actively
provided me with invaluable services. I applied and was awarded a
$5,000 scholarship, which was definitely very nice. But in addition to
that, I was honored numerous times and invited by the Society to speak
and attend several functions.
The greatest thing that NSHSS has given
me was the opportunity to speak with and meet Claes Nobel, the
Chairman of the NSHSS and a member of the Nobel Peace Prize family.
Hearing his inspiring words and his faith in my future success was
definitely very motivating. I have also called upon the NSHSS for
letters of recommendation. As a member of the Student Council, I have
answered questions via email and have submitted small pieces of
advice in the NSHSS' monthly journals, which I found to be very
rewarding. I think that the more you give to the NSHSS, the more they
will give to you. I am so incredibly glad that I became a member and I
hope you will be, too.
