What is The National Society of High School Scholars?
The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) is a member-based student organization. Its mission is to recognize academic excellence among high school students and to encourage members to apply their unique talents, vision, and potential for the betterment of themselves and the world. NSHSS is not simply an honor society or recognition program; it is an association designed to connect young scholars with each other and to additional resources to help them succeed in scholarship, leadership, and service.

I am an international student; how will membership benefit me?
Membership in The National Society of High School Scholars includes scholarship opportunities, member networking, member only publications and a chance to be published, information on colleges, universities and other programs existing in the United States and around the world. International NSHSS members can be the leaders in the Society in the areas of cultural understanding, international student concerns, and world betterment.

Honor Societies, like The National Society of High School Scholars, recognize students for their academic success. However, The National Society of High School Scholars is more than just a recognition program. You will have the opportunity to represent your country, culture and ideas in an international arena through our member forums. Members have access to a host of benefits including scholarship opportunities, member networking, member only publications, the chance to contribute and be published in Society publications, information on colleges, universities and other programs in the United States and around the world!

Will Society membership connect me with colleges & universities in the United States?
NSHSS hosts member events at many top schools in the United States, including Harvard University, Emory University, The University of California, Los Angeles, and many more. These member events are hosted throughout the year at premier U.S. institutions to connect our members with valuable resources and information regarding the admission process. Our monthly online publications highlight valuable information from college officials and contain words of wisdom from our student council members who are attending top universities. NSHSS is currently establishing a Member Institution program in which the Society is establishing formal relationships with the most prestigious colleges in the United States and working with these schools to target and identify our outstanding and diverse membership.
