NSHSS/Presidential Classroom Recipient Announced

We are very pleased to announce the recipient of this year's NSHSS/Presidential Classroom Public Service Scholarship, a $750.00 college scholarship. This scholarship is sponsored annually by our educational partner, Presidential Classroom, and awarded to an NSHSS member who has attended a PC program. The application is online and the annual deadline is August 1.

NSHSS members receive $100 tuition discount to any Presidential Classroom program when they use the application included in NSHSS welcome packet and receive special consideration for partial tuition scholarships and a full tuition scholarship to attend one of the programs. Applications for 2008 will be available soon.

This year's scholarship is awarded to Canadian Kristin Chow, who graduated in 2007 from Corner Brook Regional High School in Corner Brook. Newfoundland. Kristen attended the Future World Leaders Summit in 2006, where she learned invaluable leadership skills which served her very well when returning to her high school. Projects Abroad Report from Scholarship Program Recipient

Projects Abroad offers volunteer opportunities in countries you may never expect to visit, where you can make a real difference right before your eyes. NSHSS member Casey Czajka of Richmond, Virginia, is a recipient of a Projects Abroad full program scholarship, which enabled her to travel to Senegal, Africa, this year, where she taught English to children. All NSHSS members and their families are eligible for a ten percent discount on Projects Abroad programs. You can print out a discount coupon in the member area of the website under "Documents."
