NEW Scholarship Recipient: NSHSS/Presidential Classroom Public Service Award Congratulations to NSHSS member Jade Le, of Anaheim, California, who has been named the 2005 recipient of a scholarship for members who have participated in a Presidential Classroom Program. Jade attended the Future World Leaders Summit in July 2005, where she distinguished herself as a leader As the current president of Rancho Alamitos High School Student League, she has earned the respect of fellow students through her dedication and hard work, especially in motivating others to participate in a host of community efforts. She also is a wonderful representative of her school in the Vietnamese-American Youth Alliance.
The annual deadline for his scholarship is August 1.

NSHSS has partnered with the newly-formed National Honors Convocation, founded by successful professionals in the fields of business, law, medicine, and television & film. These extraordinary individuals share a strong passion for their careers and a desire to help exceptional youth achieve similar goals. NHC offers NSHSS members and other honor students the opportunity to attend programs in the career fields of business, law, medicine, or television & film. NSHSS welcomes its new educational partner, Nu Delta Alpha, a national dance honor society, which is designed for dance education students, dance educators, and professional dancers to express their devotion to the art form by sharing, recognizing, and promoting dance education within schools and communities. Chapters are designated for middle through high school, college through professional levels, private studios, and preparatory and home schools. By promoting Nu Delta Alpha, the National Dance Association recognizes outstanding students and professionals internationally. An important mission of NDA is to expand the student vision of dance from self to the world by encouraging community service through activities such as the Dance for Health! Project and other programs that offer dance to students with disabilities, disadvantaged youth, and people of all ages.
