NSHSS congratulates its most recent recipient of the Class Nobel School of Distinction award. Bishop Feehan High School was nominated by member Sarah Varnerin, class of 2005, who singled out her school for teaching her to "strive for excellence, and nothing less." She states that many of her teachers have become personal role models for her. The classes are challenging, and the students are very much involved in their community. Besides several annual service projects, Bishop Feehan has been praised worldwide for its Lenten Mission Project to feed the poor, the "Million Can March."

The education at Bishop Feehan aims to "foster a sense of personal worth and an appreciation of others, assist students in assuming responsibility for their actions and guide them to a way of life based on sound critical and moral judgments." Bishop Feehan demands a rigorous college track curriculum and makes an effort to broaden students' challenges outside of the classroom. Since its first graduating class in 1965, Bishop Feehan High School has been "universally recognized for academic excellence athletic achievement, and boundless spirit." The Claes Nobel School of distinction award has been established to recognize secondary schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to encouraging academic excellence and citizenship.
