NSHSS Scholarship Update

Oct 24, 2011

Nashville SkylineNSPA Scholarship Providers Conference
NSHSS is a member of the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA) and participated in the annual conference held in Nashville, Tennessee, October 18-21. The conference featured an exchange of information on topics critical to scholarship providers, ranging from federal financial aid updates to practical strategies for administering scholarships and addressing current needs. The mission of NSPA is to advance the collective impact of scholarships by informing policy, and to provide opportunities for professional development and the exchange of best practices among scholarship providers. In 2011, NSPA scholarship providers awarded more than one billion dollars in college scholarships.  The NSPA conference also hosted a scholarship fair for area high school college guidance counselors.

This year’s keynote conference speaker was Stedman Graham, Chairman & CEO of S. Graham & Associates, author of ten books, who conducts leadership seminars and founded AAD Education, Health and Sports, a nonprofit organization with over 500 professional athletes and other civic leaders which has served over 15,000 students through scholarships and education.

We look forward to participating in next year’s conference in Austin, Texas.
