NSHSS and Mr. Nobel recently participated in the 63rd annual NAFSA Conference & Expo in Houston, Texas, on May 28 - June 1, 2012. Over 7,000 international educators met to gain a better understanding of their role in directing, producing, and acting on the stage of global engagement in education.
NAFSA, the Association of International Educators, is a member organization promoting international education and providing professional development opportunities. NAFSA's members number nearly 10,000 individuals from all 50 states and over 150 countries. A majority of NAFSA's members can be found on college and university campuses working as foreign student advisers and admissions officers, study abroad advisers, directors of international programs, teachers of English as a second language, administrators of intensive English programs, overseas educational advisers, community volunteers, and administrators of sponsored exchange programs.
NSHSS attended the conference to help connect our members with international educational resources and opportunities. Many of the contacts made at NAFSA also attended the Rice University Member Event on June 1st, 2012.
