The Longest DayTM registration is open Registration for The Longest DayTM is officially open! The Longest Day is a sunrise-to-sunset relay fueling the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. On June 20, the longest day of the calendar year, teams across the Northern Hemisphere will challenge themselves to 16 hours of endurance activities, such as walking, running and biking, to show those with Alzheimer’s disease that they are not alone.
For those participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Leadership Award scholarship competition, this is your next step in fulfilling the requirements to apply. Sign up on the NSHSS website--then head to The Longest DayTM website to sign up to be a team captain, recruit team members and prepare for June 20. Follow these steps to get started:
- Sign up on then NSHSS website by June 15, 2012 http://www.nshss.org/benefits/scholarships/alzheimer's-association-scholar-awards/
- Go to The Longest Day website www.alz.org/thelongestday
- Sign up to be a Team Captain and name your team. Be creative!
- Enter code “NSHSS” to receive your free entry into The Longest DayTM.
- Recruit your members and start fundraising.
Members competing for the awards will be required to submit an essay or video describing their experience and activities after participating in The Longest Day on June 20. Entries must be submitted by July 13, 2012, to be considered. Essay guidelines will be posted on the NSHSS website when the registration period opens.
