Monthly Update for January 2003

Update on Claes Nobel

Claes had a wonderful time in Oslo attending the Peace Prize ceremony. He is writing an article at this time to share his experience with you and give his impressions of the ceremony and the time he spent with Nobel Peace Prize recipient President Jimmy Carter.

College Application and Acceptance Update

We will be sending an email to you soon asking you to fill out a form telling us where you are applying for college and about any acceptances. We want to connect you to other members that share the same school interests. We will only connect members who want to be contacted. We never share your information without your permission! Our "Special Congratulations" section is updated and follows at the end of this update. Email Scott Jordan if you would like your acceptance added.

Summer Programs

We had a great response to last month's survey about summer programs. International volunteerism definitely tops the list. We are looking at all of the options to find something that will be 1. Fun, 2. Educational, 3. Includes Volunteering/Service. Your feedback was very helpful and includes suggestions that we make whatever we do as affordable as possible, yet still a unique and exciting experience. We are checking into other options for connecting members closer to home as well as internationally.

Chance to win a free trip to the UK

The British Council USA is offering a free trip to the UK as a first place prize in a competition for students age 16-30 years old. The contest is to best describe in words or picture what "British" is to you. Looks like fun! You can find the info by clicking here
