"I found the luncheon in Dallas to be both entertaining and informative. It was a pleasure to hear from such a strong and motivated woman as Ms. Colleen Barrett, but, I confess, the highlight of the trip for me was getting to hear Mr. Nobel speak. It is reassuring to know that while our generation is preparing to take our places as leaders in society--preparing as well to inherit an earth so taxed by our presence on it--that there is someone out there willing to fight for our future. I was deeply moved by Mr. Nobel's speech, and my first reaction was to ask, "What can I do? How can I help make a difference?" I fear that too many people don't take global concerns seriously because they don't feel that their actions will make a difference. To them I say: true, the deeds of a single person in this world inhabited by six billion such entities seems insignificant; but if even a tenth so many people will make the effort,  then it is no longer the action of a single person, but of humanity itself. To preserve this "shining blue pearl" of a planet, as Mr. Nobel called it, is our responsibility as its children, and I look forward to the day when I might impart the same lesson to another generation, and I hope that I may do the mission the same justice he has."
