Congratulations to Katie McNiff
On November 19, 2006, 16-year-old Katie McNiff of Groton, was chosen as Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2007. This pageant is the official preliminary to the Miss USA Pageant. Katie, who competed with 93 contestants from Massachusetts, is a student at Cushing Academy.
"After many years of working in the pageant industry, I feel confident that Katie will be a great representative of the state of Massachusetts," said Laurie Clemente, Executive Director. "I know she will make us proud as she goes on to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA on NBC Television.
Throughout the event, the delegates competed in "runway," a choreographed evening competition; "fitness/swimsuit," a high-fashion styled competition showcasing physical fitness and health and the "interview."
As Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2007, Katie received a total prize package including a cash award, scholarships, wardrobe, travel opportunities, and more. Katie plans to combine her people skills and love for the youth during her reign as she speaks to public school children about self-esteem and living a drug free life.
