- Hear from University Chancellor Henry Yang and Nobel Laureate Herbert Kroemer as well as Claes Nobel. Prior to the member program UCSB has arranged the following optional activities;
- 2-3 p.m. The admissions staff at UC Santa Barbara will give a presentation regarding information about the campus, how to apply, financial aid, etc. This presentation is for NSHSS members, their guests, and families.
- 3-4 p.m. Following the admissions presentation, members are then invited to attend a panel discussion led by current UC Santa Barbara students. At the same time, we are holding a special reception for all of our NSHSS parents.
- 4-5 p.m Member Event Registration at Corwin Pavilion.
- 5-6:30 p.m. Member Event program. Speakers include Chairman and Founder Claes Nobel, UCSB Chancellor Henry T. Yang and Nobel Laureate Herbert Kroemer. The program will also recognize two top companies who have used Herbert Kroemer's technology for the betterment of the world: Computer Sciences Corporation and Hewlett-Packard Company. Our previous member events have been held in a variety of locations, including the Harvard, UCLA, and Marquette campuses; The Senate Caucus Room, the House Caucus Room, and the Washington Press Club in Washington, D.C.; The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California; the USS Intrepid in New York City; the Southwest Airlines Headquarters in Dallas; and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, among others.
