n February 2, NSHSS representatives met with Advisory Board member Ed Harris in Malibu, California, to discuss NSHSS activities. Mr. Harris is a highly-acclaimed actor, director, family man, and community leader who shared advice with NSHSS Student Council member Marie Harding, a freshman at the University of San Diego. Marie spoke about her positive experiences being a member of NSHSS, including her adventure traveling with Mr. Nobel to Australia last summer and meeting members at NSHSS events. NSHSS Day Declared on February 17, 2007
Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry issued an official proclamation from the state Executive Department declaring February 17, 2007, as “National Society of High School Scholars Day” in the state of Oklahoma. The proclamation was issued in conjunction with the NSHSS member program in Oklahoma City hosted by the University of Oklahoma, where NSHSS Chair Claes Nobel delivered the keynote address to NSHSS members, families, and educators. -MORE-
