Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Robert Sheppard Leadership Award
This year's recipient for initiative and leadership in community services goes to
Mililani High School senior Kyle Monette, of Mililani, Hawaii, who was selected for his outstanding dedication to working with juvenile diabetes. He was honored at our Scholar's Day celebration on June 1 in Washington, D.C.
and is pictured here at the ceremony with Claes Nobel and Robert
Sheppard's nephews.
We have awarded ten Claes Nobel Academic Scholarships of $5,000 each and fifty National Scholar Award of $1,000 each for the 2007-08 academic year. For a list of the recipients, visit the NSHSS Scholarship Recipients 2007 page.

New Scholarship Notice from Schering-Plough’s “Will to Win” — For Students with Asthma Graduating in 2007. Deadline: August 31, 2007
We have just received notice of a scholarship open for recent high school graduates who suffer from asthma. “Will to Win” is a scholarship available for high school seniors with asthma who are pursuing a higher education. A total $50,000 in scholarships will be awarded to 10 students this fall. Schering-Plough’s “Will to Win” college scholarship demonstrates to young asthma sufferers that the condition, when properly treated and managed, need not impede their ability to excel.
Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to two deserving high school seniors in five categories: Performing arts (dance, music, theater); Visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, film); Community service; Athletics; Science. All high school seniors with asthma who will graduate in 2007 with a minimum GPA average of 3.5 are eligible. Applications for Schering-Plough’s “Will to Win” college scholarship are now being accepted. It also covers information about the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, that all college-bound students must submit to apply for financial aid each year (including students already in college applying for financial aid).
