Stuart Burton Selected for Governor's Conference in Virginia

We are happy to catch up with NSHSS member Stuart Burton, now a senior at Longwood University in Virginia. Just a few short years ago, Stuart was featured in a member highlight for receiving a “Light of Hope” award for community service as a high school senior. Now on the brink of college graduation, Stuart has been honored again. He was one of a very few students selected from his college political science department to participate in the Governor's annual COVITS conference held in Roanoke, Virginia. At the conference, he worked alongside educators and elected officials, and was recognized by the Governor. This conference, the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Innovative Technology Symposium, is a nationally recognized event that annually brings together a community of senior-level executives and leaders from state and local government, business, and academia to identify, discuss and propose solutions to Virginia’s critical technology issues.

Stuart has often provided advice to our members; you can read his previous article on finding scholarships (he managed to find scholarships to fund his entire freshman year of college), and how to help finance your education by working as a Resident Assistant in your dorm.
