In order to better serve our members and connect with top corporations, NSHSS Chief Development Officer Carla Maxwell Ray gathered with over 1,000 corporate human resource leaders at the ERE Expo in Washington, DC. This conference is the leading provider of information and networking opportunities for recruitment and HR professionals. Talent acquisition and management are pressing issues for corporations today as a new generation of students enters the workforce. NSHSS is collaborating with ERE and surveying our members regarding upcoming trends and expectations of high school and college students. Several corporations have expressed interest in offering opportunities to our members in the form of internships and part-time opportunities, which we will announce to members as these arise.
NSHSS Participates in National Philanthropy Day Awards Program
NSHSS Chief Development Officer Carla Ray and University Relations Coordinator Veronica Squires participated in a celebration of the 22nd anniversary of National Philanthropy Day®(NPD) at the National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon at the George World Congress Center in Atlanta on November 13, 2007. NPD recognizes and pays tribute to the extraordinary contributions that charitable giving and volunteerism have made to society. Among the honorees was Georgia native Deborah Norville, pictured with Carla and Veronica, discussing her new book "Thank you Power: Making the Science of Gratitude Work for You."
