NSHSS Chair Claes Nobel will be honored
at the 4th Annual Artivist Film Festival and Artivist Awards, which
recognize socially conscious filmmakers, activists, celebrities, and
charitable organizations. He will be honored for his championship of
environmental stewardship, earth ethics, and youth outreach. Also to be
honored are Ted Danson for his work with American Oceans Campaign and Alyssa
Milano for her work as a relief ambassador for UNICEF.

Holiday Event, Collegiate Panel Discussion, & College Fair
This December NSHSS will hold its annual holiday event at The Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 1, 2007. The event will honor our scholars and distinguished educators, and include a panel discussion with college admissions officials from several top colleges and universities. Topics covered will range from the various elements of the college application process, including timelines, common applications, early action and early decision, interviews, college visits, college selection, and much more. After the program, members will have the opportunity to meet the college representatives and ask questions in a college fair setting. Universities which have confirmed participation this year include Duke, Georgia Tech, Griffith University Dublin, Spelman College, Tulane, the University of Oklahoma, Wake Forest, Washington University in St. Louis, and Yale University.
