Meridith Warren Receives $5,000 Scholarship

Oklahoma City member Meridith Warren has been selected for a $5,000 scholarship to the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University. This scholarship is being awarded to an NSHSS member on behalf of Oklahoma Businesswoman Mary Blankenship Pointer, NSHSS Parent Council National Chair.

Meridith, now 22, is one of the members of the founding year of NSHSS. She plans to complete both her B.S. and M.S. in Accounting in 2009. The mother of two young children, she attends school full time and works as an administrative assistant for Matrimonial Law Group. Her husband also attends school and works full time. Meridith is considering starting her own CPA firm after college and is continually working to achieve the challenging balance between family and career. She knows that her career goals are ambitious, but writes, “I believe that anything worth accomplishing is worth the effort necessary to achieve it.” She has won the OSCPA Gold Award, is on the President’s Honor Roll, and has received the Miss American Women in Business Scholarship. She also volunteers with Legal Aid of Oklahoma.

Congratulations to Meridith; we are happy that such a great opportunity has been made available to assist a member well into her college career.
