NSHSS members annually have a strong showing in this competition, sometimes referred to as the “Junior Nobel Prize.” Shannon Babb, Claes Nobel Academic Scholarship Recipient, was awarded the top prize in 2006 from the Intel Science Talent Search for her research identifying water quality problems in the Spanish Fork River in her home state of Utah. As a result, she was invited to present her water research at the Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar (SIYSS) held during the Nobel Prize festivities. We congratulate Shannon and are pleased to share her account of the trip.

Congratulations to our NSHSS winners! Read more about the winners and the contest on the Science Talent Search website.
