North Carolina member Cameron Holmes achieving success as concert violinist

Cameron Holmes, rising junior from Westover High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, leads the way as an accomplished violinist at the age of only 15. As the Cumberland County Youth Orchestra (CCYO) 2008 Concerto Winner, Cameron was a featured violin soloist, performing Bach’s "Concerto in A Minor" before an audience of hundreds at the Cumberland County 28th Annual Spring Orchestra Festival at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, on May 1, 2008. In addition to performing the concerto at the orchestra festival, he also had the honor of performing the concerto for the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra at a banquet held at the Highland Country Club in Fayetteville.
Cameron was also awarded second place in the 9th-12th grade division of the 57th Annual Kiwanis Talent Night Showcase at the Cape Fear Regional Theater in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on May 17, 2008. In addition to the second place prize, Cameron was also awarded an orchestra scholarship to Methodist University Summer MusiCamp.
Earlier in the year, Cameron was awarded 1st place at the Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt on February 24, 2008, and represented the Fayetteville chapter at the district meeting in Charleston, South Carolina in April.
