Scholars Celebrate NSHSS Day at The Carter Center

Nearly 500 NSHSS members, families, and teachers gathered for our annual scholar recognition and college fair program at The Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, December 5, 2009, a day declared as NSHSS Day in the state of Georgia by Governor Sonny Perdue. The inspiring program honored our scholars and distinguished educators, followed by a college panel and fair with 20 universities participating. Holiday music was provided by “AHANA,” a highly acclaimed a capella group from Emory University. NSHSS Chair Claes Nobel delivered the keynote address, urging students to accept the challenge of becoming tomorrow’s leaders. The theme of the program was “Learn, Lead . . . Change the World.” He encouraged members and parents alike to pursue peace and to remember that we can make positive changes in the world. — MORE
