NSHSS Supports Launch of 2015 Nobel Peace Laureates Summit 10-24-2014
On Saturday, September 27, 2014, NSHSS members Tony Bennett (Georgia State University Class of 2018) and Trisha Pilgrim (Emory University Class of 2018) joined Claes Nobel, James and Lee Lewis, Beth Pann, and Susan Thurman for a special gala celebration for the 2015 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. NSHSS was also proud to have Todd Corley, founder of The TAPO Institute, and Dina Bailey, Director and Interpretation Curator of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, join us at the event.
Hosted by Professor Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner (pictured), the gala celebration brought together prominent international leaders to recognize the Summit Committee and provide an overview of the plans for the Summit. The 2015 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will be held November 15-19, 2015 in Atlanta, GA. The Summit is an important global event organized to promote democratic values and to highlight the significance of freedom and peace. Topics will include youth, education, technology, civil rights, human rights, global health, women’s empowerment, nuclear disarmament, climate change, water sustainability, poverty, economic prosperity and global peace.
In January, 2015, NSHSS will announce an unprecedented opportunity for our scholars and Claes Nobel Educators of Distinction to apply to participate in an exclusive learning experience promoting global peace. Be sure to check your inbox for more details!
