I have an insatiable hunger for knowledge. I thrive on intellectual thought from conversation, books, film, etc. I'm constantly out looking to find that one passion, but at the same time I'm looking for peace, mundane activities to bring my life to calm. I understand more now than I probably will in 5 years. I play several instruments, but the cello is my forte. I'm the first in my family of 10 to attend a 4 year college and I look forward to being a good example to my younger brothers and sisters.
I will make a difference by showing others that it's quite alright to play a small part in the world. A person doesn't have to be critically acclaimed or moneyed to help a hungry person in Swaziland Mbabane. By playing minor-league roles we can concentrate on the service of others, alleviating world-wide afflictions. By simply sharing what we have and showering the world with an unparalleled generosity, we can start to give hope in times of bleak darkness. After college, I look forward to joining the US Peace Corps then continuing in domestic missionary work. Of course, to myself I will just be a helping hand, but in someone else’s eyes I will be making a difference.
I will be attending Sarah Lawrence College with plans to concentrate on creative writing and literature.
