It is located in the heart of the city of Montreal, on the main campus of one of Canada's best-known institutions of higher education. Their learners come from across the country and around the world. McGill SCS’ mission is to provide innovative programs, designed to elevate your personal and professional goals.

We are proud to introduce our new gateway to university programs to support students seeking admission into a STEM program or bachelor’s degree in English-speaking universities around the world. Join us and become part of an institution with exceptional academics.

POST-SECONDARY STEM PREPARATION PROGRAM

The McGill School of Continuing Studies (SCS) proposes a certificate program that will prepare students for first-year university studies in a variety of STEM-related subjects. This program is designed for students from all backgrounds who lack typical prerequisites for first-year STEM courses or who wish to enhance their pre-university educational background for more competitive university applications.

The program is comprised of 30 credits of unique U0-level prerequisite courses: 8 required courses (24 credits) selected from one of the designated concentrations in health and science or engineering and 2 complementary courses (6 credits).

A tutor will be assigned to each student for the duration of the program to monitor academic progress and to provide immediate assistance if needed. In addition, important soft skills, such as note-taking, time management, and exam preparation will be developed throughout extracurricular workshops and activities.

ACCELERATED FOUNDATION PROGRAM

Intended mainly for international students, this program will be comprised of courses that will help prepare high school graduates to apply for Bachelor’s degrees at English-speaking universities around the world. Students will be better prepared to apply for programs in disciplines such as Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Arts, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Education, Computer Science, and Information Technology, Architecture, Urban Planning, and many others. This program will ensure that students have a solid entry-level foundation in Academic English and Fundamentals in Mathematics.

The Program will include four (4) 3-credit courses to be taken over one (1) semester. All students will be required to take a Diagnostic Math Test and Diagnostic English Test to determine their strengths and weaknesses in these areas of study.

To ensure a well-rounded study abroad experience, the McGill SCS Accelerated Foundation Program will also include a socio-cultural activity program, optional out-of-town excursions, and supervised accommodations in residence halls.
