Helen, Director of Marketing & Communications
Helen has been based in Costa Rica since 2018 after falling in love with its abundant wildlife and spectacular landscapes. Before starting her new chapter in Central America, she worked for a wildlife conservation organization delivering pioneering initiatives across the UK and Ireland.
Prior to joining OBCR, she worked for multiple sustainable development organizations on projects in national parks and indigenous communities. She is passionate about personal development and working with young people to create long-lasting change. With a background in graphic design and communications, Helen loves to combine this experience with her knowledge of Latin America to spread the word about the incredible opportunities that OBCR has to offer.
Kyleigh, Media & Marketing Manager
Kyleigh first fell in love with Costa Rica and OBCR’s mission on a Girl Scout Sea Turtle Conservation and Service Destination in 2013 – so much so that she returned as the PR, Media, and Logistics Intern in 2019.
Prior to making her way back to OBCR for good in 2022, she completed her undergraduate degree and spent two years at a Colorado-based public relations and content marketing agency working with clients across the health and wellness, nonprofit, education, consumer, and financial services sectors.
Kyleigh believes experiential learning that connects us to our natural world is an integral part of continuous personal development, intercultural understanding, and a holistic sense of community. She sees her role as marketing OBCR and its programs internationally as a way to encourage others to stretch beyond their comfort zones.
