Scholars, families, and educators are invited to gather in Amherst, Massachusetts on Sunday, February 16 for the NSHSS Member Event at. This prestigious event is a celebration of academic excellence, where each member in attendance will be honored for their academic achievement.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2020

8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Badge Pick-Up
Attendees will check-in with a digital or printed copy of their tickets and members will receive name badges in the Campus Center Auditorium foyer.
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Breakfast and College & Career Fair
NSHSS will provide a catered continental breakfast for attendees. During the breakfast hour, attendees will have the opportunity to gather information from College & Career Fair exhibitors.
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: NSHSS Welcome and UMASS Summer Programs & Admissions Workshop
NSHSS will welcome attendees to campus, then UMASS staff will guide them through an informative presentation about the university, with a special focus on the summer programs available to high school students.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: CIA Student Opportunities
Our partner, the Central Intelligence Agency, will present information about the special opportunities available to NSHSS members in high school, college, and even post-graduation.
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
Attendees will visit nearby eateries for lunch on their own.
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Campus Tours
Attendees will break up into groups for guided tours of the UMass campus.
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: College and Career Fair
Attendees will have the chance to gather information from College & Career Fair exhibitors.
1:00 PM – 2:45 PM: Presentations from various UMASS academic programs like: Sports Broadcasting, Human Health & Movement "Kinesiology"), and McCormack Sport Leadership Academy
Attendees will dive into various programs that the University has to offer with presentations by Steve Fox, Senior Lecturer, Department of Journalism, Judi LaBranche, Senior Lecturer, Department of Kinesiology, and Brett Albert, Lecturer, Department of Sport Management.
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Member Recognition Ceremony
Members will hear congratulatory remarks and receive their own NSHSS honor medallion.
