STEM Immersion: Boston 2019

Last summer, NSHSS Members met in Boston to explore their STEM passions and gain hands-on experience in real-world labs in a 5-day STEM Immersion tour!

Activities included taking part in the science of extracting natural oils and the study of green chemistry with Beyond Benign, learning about gene expression with Bio Builder, programming robots with FIRST Robotics, and analyzing the mechanics behind structural engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Participants also explored the Edward Kennedy Institute and the Museum of Science, received an inside look at a green-tech startup, Greentown Labs, honed their puzzle-solving skills at Boda Borg, and cheered on the Red Sox as they played the Toronto Blue Jays.
