NSHSS college members now have a unique opportunity to participate in an internship in Australia through our partner Australian Internships, (AI), recognized as the market leader in career development programs for international candidates. Students selected for internship gain valuable work skills in various areas of expertise. AI was established in 1998 as an organization dedicated to arranging internships for young professionals seeking international experience in their academic fields.
The programs are designed to meet the growing demand for internationalization. Programs include: 1. Professional Internships; 2. Paid Hospitality Program; 3. Professional Year Program. Australian Internships provides programs and support services to international students and graduates wishing to gain professional work experience aligned to their academic studies or profession in Australia, particularly in the fields of business, finance, IT, engineering and science.
Australian Internships is providing one professional internship opportunity for an NSHSS member to participate in their internship program. Housing is not provided; however, Australian Internships staff will work with the candidate selected to locate accommodation.
AI maintains student services for interns, including AI offers comprehensive programs including internship placements, visa guidance, airport reception, accommodation, travel, referral and ongoing and emergency support. Each candidate is carefully assessed and provided with a structured program that is tailored to respond to the individuals’ objectives.

ELIGIBILITY
All NSHSS members in college and recent college graduates may apply for the internship opportunity. Dates and length of internship vary depending on student availability.
- Up to 6 months for college students
- Up to 3 months for college graduates
- Between March and October

The application requires:
personal statement about why you wish to participate in an internship program in Australia;
a letter of recommendation;
a resume listing your academic or other awards and honors; your leadership activities;
organizations in which you are active; community service activities; extra-curricular activities;
transcript or current grade report;
a color headshot suitable for possible website posting
