NSHSS Members Support Mr. Nobel at ISC of Alabama Gala

IMG_2171

NSHSS was proud to award six NSHSS high school members the opportunity to attend the 50th Anniversary Gala for the International Services Council of Alabama on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. NSHSS Founder Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes, delivered a keynote speech, aptly entitled “Liftoff to The Age of Universal Peace” in honor of the city of Huntsville and its leaders who are working with business, nonprofit, government and academia to connect diverse people through international exchange programs.

In response to the question, In what ways do you support citizen diplomacy and how have you participated in the exchange of ideas, cultural traditions, or other experiences?, each of the six essay winner cited commitments to shared experiences as key for building personal relationships.

Mr. Nobel specifically addressed NSHSS members during his keynote by saying, “…in your capable hands there exists a dynamic, sleeping giant of immense power…”.

NSHSS congratulates these members who are, in their own right, contributing to the exchange of ideas and cultural traditions in their schools and in their communities.
