AnZhane' J. Slaughter, Franklin High School 2014, Seattle, WA

Anzhane Slaughter

AnZhane’ has recently graduated with honors from Franklin High School. Serving as an impeccable representation of NSHSS, AnZhane’ maintains her nearly perfect academic record while serving as a humanitarian, environmentalist, and an advocate for the arts. In addition to consistently exceeding in academia, she has volunteered for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Teen Night Program, We Day, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound, Seattle Parks and Recreation, and the Center for Multi-Cultural Health.

A recipient of the Costco Diversity Scholarship, AnZhane’ is also a Goodwill Youth Leader, an NAACP Junior Member, an L.E.A.R.N. 28 Youth Leader, a Woodmen of the World Youth Leader, and a JUMA Youth Manager of the Year. AnZhane’ is an accomplished solo clarinetist having performed with the Hendrix Music Academy in honor of Jimi Hendrix’s 70th Birthday Celebration and for Seattle Mayor Ed Murray in the Seattle Women in Jazz Festival Community Celebration. She is also a spoken word artist, a dancer, and an actress in both school and community performances. AnZhane’ promotes health-consciousness, and she enjoys playing basketball and participating in other aerobic activities.
