Student filmmaker Jayme Davis, of Arizona State University, received the Campus MovieFest Best Picture Award at ASU in late 2012 and was selected to screen her film at the CMF 2013 Cannes International Film Festival in the South of France. The Cannes film festival, being held in Nice, France, May 13-27, is recognized as the world's most prestigious and publicized film festival. Jayme's film "Spare Real Gun" was selected from among thousands of entries for excellence in story telling, technical achievement, and creativity.
The Campus MovieFest organization selected her for an exclusive immersive program at the two-week festival, designed to help navigate the ins and outs of the Cannes International Film Festival and subsidizing the cost of the trip. Through the CMF Cannes program she will have the opportunity to highlight her film and talent to an international audience of industry professionals and fellow filmmakers, as well as gain insight into how the world’s largest film marketplace functions. Plus, Jayme will have the opportunity to walk the red carpet and attend movie premieres.
Jayme excels in acting, as well as directing and writing; during her high school years in Arizona, where she was in the top 5% of her class, Jayme starred in a full-length feature independent film "Vanquish."
Congratulations to Jayme on her blossoming film career!
