(The Summerville Journal Scene) - Arykah Moore, daughter of Ragin Shirley, Jermaine Moore and stepdaughter of Grant Shirley, has received and accepted an appointment to the Class of 2020 at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Moore will graduate from Summerville High School in May 2016 where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, SC All-State Choir member, four-time HS Girls State champion wrestler and at the top of her class. As a participant in the inaugural cohort of the Early College Initiative partnership with Dorchester District 2 and Trident Technical College, Moore has also achieved college graduate status in advance of her high school career completion, having graduated summa cum laude with an associate of science degree from Trident Tech. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, and advocate for life volunteer with the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, as well as a member of her church’s youth ministry, Radiate.
