Refugio student nominees named

(REFUGIO COUNTY PRESS) - "Every year, the Refugio County Chamber of Commerce recognizes three exceptional students – one from each of the county’s high schools, and names them the Chamber’s Outstanding Students of the year at its Banquet. The selections are picked from three students from each high school... Here are the three promising students from Refugio High School – Christian Moscorro, Anthony McGuill, and Kenneth Moore II, who aspire to be a significant impact on community service, a game warden and a mechanical engineer...

Christian Mascorro is the son of Rene and Christie Mascorro of Refugio.


Ranked 1st in RHS class of 2016, Board of Trustees Academic Excellence Award (9, 10, 11), National Honor Society 10-12, Student Council 9-12, Distinguished Honor Roll 9-12, 24 College Credit Hours, 4-H Gold Star Award Recipient, 4-H I Dare You Award Recipient, District Honorable Mention OL 10th, First Team All-District OL 11, 12, First Team Academic All-State 12, Jack Sportsman Outstanding Bobcat Award Recipient 11, South Texas Showcase OL MVP-12, South Texas Showcase-First Team All-South Texas, National Society of High School Scholars, Powerlifting- Regional Qualifier, Community Service Award-NHS, Academic Awards: World History AP, Biology Honors, Geometry Honors and State Finalist - Football 10, 12."
