NSHSS partner Chegg offers online tutoring, homework assistance, online textbook rentals, internship matching, and scholarships. The name Chegg originates from the old-age debate of whether the chicken or egg came first in relation to the company’s highly-educated founders’ job search in which experience was required, but unattainable without employment. Chegg bridges gaps and smooths transitions as their services are provided to high school students, college students, and young professionals.

Chegg recently offered five $1,000 scholarships exclusive to NSHSS’s high school members, prompting students to reveal where they’d like to study abroad most and why. Scholarship recipient Jessica Criss of Klamath Falls, OR, explains her stance on the subject, “Asking a wide-eyed student to choose just one location to study abroad is like handing an avid reader an enticing book, and telling them to read only a chapter. This world contains magnificent continents filled to the sea-beaten borders with sights and adventures just waiting to be had.”
