Chegg Allows NSHSS Scholars to Go Global

NSHSS partner Chegg offers online tutoring, homework assistance, online textbook rentals, internship matching, and scholarships. The name Chegg originates from the old-age debate of whether the chicken or egg came first in relation to the company’s highly-educated founders’ job search in which experience was required, but unattainable without employment. Chegg bridges gaps and smooths transitions as their services are provided to high school students, college students, and young professionals.

Chegg recently offered five $1,000 scholarships exclusive to NSHSS’s high school members, prompting students to reveal where they’d like to study abroad most and why. Scholarship recipient Jessica Criss of Klamath Falls, OR, explains her stance on the subject, “Asking a wide-eyed student to choose just one location to study abroad is like handing an avid reader an enticing book, and telling them to read only a chapter. This world contains magnificent continents filled to the sea-beaten borders with sights and adventures just waiting to be had.”

Jessica’s fellow scholarship recipients share her enthusiasm and passion for studying abroad. The outstanding students hail from Maryland to California. See the list of recipients below:

Natasha Coleman, Los Angeles, CA, Marlborough High School
Jessica Criss, Klamatha Falls, OR, Triad High School
Jack Elias, Mill Valley, CA, Tamalpais High School
Rashad Glascoe, Hyattsville, MD, Central High School
Alejandra Moz, Houston, TX, Cesar E. Chavez High School

All of the Chegg scholarship recipients are preparing to begin their college careers. We wish Jack Elias the best in his studies at New York University –where he will also compete with NYU’s baseball team.
