In November, NSHSS surveyed parents of members in order to better understand their needs and expectations. Parents offered their opinion of the benefits of NSHSS membership, studying abroad, factors affecting college selection, and student exchange programs. A number of NSHSS parents also revealed that they had not been aware that NSHSS membership is lifetime and offers rewarding scholarship, internship, and professional networking opportunities for college students and college graduates. Interestingly, 85% percent of parents indicated that their student is interested in attending graduate school. NSHSS looks forward to expanding parents’ awareness of opportunities made available through membership in NSHSS.
