FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

NATIONAL SOCIETY OF HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARS (NSHSS) JOINS FORCES WITH NO BULLY TO ADDRESS CRITICAL ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH BULLYING

ATLANTA, G.A., July 22, 2014 – The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), an international honor society dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments of students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment, announced today that they have partnered with No Bully, a non-profit organization bringing innovative, sustainable solutions to empower students and school communities to establish an inclusive environment where everyone belongs. This partnership will encourage young people to excel in service leadership, ethical action and expressions of selflessness.

NSHSS encourages its members to work toward the betterment of themselves and others, which stems from NSHSS Founder and senior member of the family who established the Nobel Prize, Mr. Claes Nobel. NSHSS and No Bully share a vision to support students in achieving their academic and personal development goals, and becoming their best selves. Together, NSHSS and No Bully are committed to bring important opportunities and resources that support students in fulfilling their dreams and in becoming responsible citizens, promoting values of respect, empathy and inclusion.

“For more than 100 years my family name has been recognized as a hallmark of peace. There is no room for bullying. My personal commitment to young people worldwide is to promote peace, understanding and acceptance of all people and the wellbeing of Mother Earth,” said Claes Nobel.

The No Bully System is a step-by-step process and set of interventions to prevent and stop bullying in schools. It guides school leaders and staff through a series of interventions for responding to bullying and harassment, depending on the severity of the incident. When severe or persistent bullying occurs, teachers facilitate Solution Teams®, where the target’s peer group and the bully come together to stop the bullying. Teachers follow up with Solution Coaching®, to help students entrenched in the role of the bully or relate more skillfully with their peers.

Nicholas Carlisle, Founder and Executive of No Bully, said “We are extremely excited to be partnering with NSHSS. Our common goals and values align as we collectively strive to create academic environments of inclusion where all students can excel.”
