Maybe you don’t see them every day, but school counselors are there for you when you need them. Whether you go for advice about a personal problem; are preparing for college; figuring out your schedule; or trying to handle the pressure of school and extracurricular activities, professional school counselors play a critical—and often unsung—role in your school.
Feburary 1-5, 2016, is National School Counseling Week. It’s a good time to thank your counselor for the work they do. I guarantee it will make their day.
NSHSS, in collaboration with the American School Counselor Association, is pleased to offer three $1,000 grants to enable ASCA members to attend the 2016 national conference in New Orleans, July 9-12. The funds may be used to defray the costs of conference registration, travel and accommodations. Eligibility: Any high school counselor and ASCA member currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States. Applications will be accepted February 1, 2016, through March 31, 2016.
