NSHSS May Scholarship Update

NEW! NSHSS Emerging Leader Award for College Members

Sponsored by Morgan Vazquez, President, NSHSS Fellows Executive Board.

Morgan, an NSHSS scholarship recipient in 2009, graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University, where she remained actively engaged with NSHSS. As a Student Council member, Morgan spent time speaking and providing advice to college-bound students and served as an NSHSS representative during Nobel Week at the University of Stockholm. Currently, she is a Vice President – Senior Recruiter of Campus Strategy & Pipeline Development at BNY Mellon in New York City.

This $1,000 scholarship opportunity is for an undergraduate college freshman, sophomore or junior who demonstrates exemplary leadership in his or her school, community and/or workplace. This award will recognize a student who has made a significant impact and positive difference through leadership activities and initiatives.  Details available on our scholarship page. Claes Nobel Legacy Awards for high school seniors and college freshmen

Greg Goff, Chairman, President and CEO of Tesoro Corporation, has established the Claes Nobel Legacy Award in honor of Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes, to highlight his family legacy of rewarding excellence. Mr. Nobel has dedicated his life and work to the values that he holds dear: preserving the earth, promoting peace, and changing the world for the better. In 2002, he co-founded NSHSS with James W. Lewis to acknowledge and nurture the continuing success of high school and college students who have distinguished themselves through academic accomplishment, exemplary leadership and community involvement. This award is a $5,000 college scholarship for NSHSS members who have demonstrated in an outstanding manner the values of Mr. Nobel. A total of two awards will be offered. High school seniors and current college freshmen who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 are eligible to apply. More information can be found on the NSHSS Scholarship Page. Deadline: May 15, 2016

Oglethorpe University scholarships for entering freshmen

All NSHSS members admitted to Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA, as freshmen will receive a $10,000 NSHSS-OU Scholarship! This scholarship is awarded $2,500/yr. for four years, and is in addition to other Oglethorpe merit/need based awards you may qualify for. Apply at .
