Updates from Georgetown College, George Washington University, and New Collaborating University Lorenzo de' Medici

Georgetown College Increases its Scholarship Award for NSHSS Members
Georgetown College is a small, residential, liberal arts college dedicated to preparing students to engage in their life’s pursuits with thoughtfulness and skill by providing an exceptional educational experience in a vibrant Christian community. In partnering with NSHSS, Georgetown College offers a scholarship to all NSHSS members that apply and have been accepted to the College. This academic scholarship has been increased and is now valued at $18,000 - $22,000 and is renewable for four years.
As you carefully research which school offers you the best quality, we know that you will look for academic credentials. At Georgetown College, we offer nationally-recognized science programs, have a unique relationship with Oxford University that allows Oxford Honors students to study in Oxford, and have remarkable success in graduate and professional school placement.

The real story at Georgetown College, though, is our people and the community we build on campus and in classes, all of which are taught by faculty (not teaching assistants). Our faculty are supremely qualified (94% hold the highest academic degree in their field), and they are dedicated to forming the sorts of personal relationships with students that allow for meaningful letters of recommendation, personalized, quality instruction, and the informing and transforming of our student body.

NSHSS would like to welcome Lorenzo de’ Medici School as a new Collaborating University
The Lorenzo de’ Medici School (LdM) is one of the most distinctive and well-established study abroad institutions in Europe. LdM offers academic and professionally-oriented courses to enrich students’ knowledge, education and skills. Students may choose from 500 different courses in 37 subject areas, which are taught in English at LdM’s three locations: Florence, Rome and Tuscania, Italy. Courses fall under five main academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Sciences, Creative Arts, Design and Italian Language and Culture.  LdM will be offering 2 $1500 scholarships to NSHSS members attending the Summer Session.  The Summer Session Program consists of month-long courses in June and July, which are taught in English. More details about courses offered by LdM is found here: www.ldminstitute.com.
