NSHSS would like to welcome HBCU, Claflin University, as one of its new collaborating universities. Claflin University will be offering NSHSS members the Academic Incentive Award Scholarship. Students interested in this scholarship must have a GPA of 3.0, SAT score of 1000 (critical reading and math only) and/or ACT score of 22.

Claflin University was founded in 1869 and is recognized by publication companies such as U.S. News and World Report, Forbes.com and Washington Monthlyas one of the best liberal arts colleges in America. Claflin University enrolls approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students from the United States and 21 other countries. The university offers 35 undergraduate majors, a Master of Business Adminstration (MBA) degree and a Master of Science in Biotechnology degree. Claflin’s art department is the oldest in South Carolina, producing some of the first artists and architects.
