“I am immensely proud of the dedication that our members consistently demonstrate to making our Earth a better place for all,” said Claes Nobel, Chairman of NSHSS.

Seventeen NSHSS members were among a delegation of 600 young leaders, ages 18 to 25, who participated in the Youth Assembly at the United Nations (YA@UN) Global Leaders Conference from August 1-8, 2015 at Fairleigh Dickinson University and at the United Nations. This unique conference created a platform to foster dialogue generate partnerships between exceptional youth, UN high officials and staff, private sector, and civil society.

“Fairleigh Dickinson University was delighted to host so many members of NSHSS, who joined participants from twenty different countries for a youth leadership program focusing on social ventures.  Each group of participants identified a significant social need and developed a concrete action plan.  It was thrilling to help future leaders work collaboratively across geographic and cultural boundaries,” said Jason Scorza, Vice Provost for Academic and International Affairs and Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Youth Assembly Representative Diana Bosch, who lead the delegation throughout their experience, said, “It was a pleasure to meet and interact with this magnificent, analytical and energetic group of leaders. Throughout this journey of learning, each one of them opened their minds to the problems that our world faces. They were brilliant at creating hypothetical organizations that would tackle issues such as people with disabilities desiring to improve the lives of refugees in Syria. They learned a great deal their fellow delegates at the United Nations.”

NSHSS is proud that our members are making active contributions to change the world for the better.
