The National University of Singapore (http://www.nus.edu.sg/) is a leading global university offering a distinctive Asian perspective and based upon the cardinal values of diversity, choice and flexibility. An NUS education is defined by its academic rigour and differentiated by a vast array of unique programs and opportunities.
NUS offers a wide range of undergraduate courses – accountancy, architecture, arts and social sciences, business administration, business analytics, computing (computer science and information systems specialisations), dentistry, engineering, environmental studies, industrial design, law, medicine, music, nursing, pharmacy, project and facilities management, public policy, real estate and science (http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/courses/course.html). Our faculties offer a broad spectrum of learning opportunities beyond the traditional single-degree programs including double and concurrent degree courses designed to allow students to delve into multiple knowledge domains in tandem, while concurrent and joint-degree programs provide new opportunities for our students through collaborations with other top universities across the globe.
Special programmes offered by the university include the University Scholars Program (http://www.usp.nus.edu.sg/) for high achievers and the various international exchange and college programs which give NUS students the opportunity to experience life and immerse themselves in cultures all around the globe. The NUS Overseas Colleges (http://www.overseas.nus.edu.sg/) immerses students in an entrepreneurial environment in one of our 7 overseas colleges in US, China, Sweden, India or Israel, giving the experience of working at the cutting edge while furthering their academic enrichment. The Student Exchange Programme nurtures global citizens of the future by providing students the opportunity to experience student life in a foreign country, pick up a new language, experience different cultures, overcome novel challenges and make new friends, while earning credits towards their NUS degree.
NUS seeks to enhance campus life through the promotion of a metropolitan and multi-cultural campus. NUS welcomed over 1,500 exchange students to its campus in the last academic year. Several events such as the Welcome Party, Mid-Semester BBQ, Travel Clinic, Exchange Fair and Dragon Boating are organised on a yearly basis to give students the opportunity to learn and experience the world together. The NUS International Relations Office (IRO) has more details on such programmes (www.nus.edu.sg/iro).
Singapore offers students the opportunity to immerse and integrate into a multi-cultural environment – an experience they will find beneficial when looking for work in today's globally oriented business environment. We believe that the quality of an NUS education is clearly reflected in our consistent ranking among the top universities in the world; most recently, we were placed 25th in the world and 2nd in Asia by the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings in 2012/2013.
