Tanea Hibler

Tanea Hibler has been teaching science for two decades. She teaches from a student-centered perspective. She currently serves as chair of the science department at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Rabun Gap, GA. She most recently moved there from Exeter, NH, but has also lived and taught in Arizona, China, and Thailand, and she is originally from Berkeley, CA. In addition to teaching and leading professional development for other educators, she has a passion for incorporating Socratic dialogue and Modeling Instruction into her classroom. She currently serves as an HHMI BioInteractive Ambassador, and periodically leads workshops for both the American Modeling Teachers Association and HHMI BioInteractive. Through all the support of various organizations, she has grown as an educator and looks forward to supporting the growth and development of her students.

NSHSS is awarding one (1) $1,000 grant for Advanced Placement teachers to use for supplies, materials, field trips, or other supplemental aids to enhance the delivery of Advanced Placement courses. Any NSHSS Educator teaching an Advanced Placement course in any field is eligible to apply.
