Taylor Barrientes
Taylor Barrientes is a second-year teacher at Banks County High School. She teaches economics and psychology and sponsors the social sciences club on campus. Taylor was nominated as an NSHSS Educator of Distinction her first year of teaching, and that accolade meant a lot to her since it was student nominated. Now, as a recipient of the NSHSS social emotional learning grant, she is excited to use this endowment to improve her community for her students. She is passionate about making mental health resources available to her students.
NSHSS wants to aid educators in their positive efforts to spread awareness and affect change regarding mental health in their classrooms. NSHSS is awarding five (5) NSHSS Educators $1,500 grants to provide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) resources and curriculum to their classrooms.
