Vera Peck

Vera Peck is a science teacher at Fagaitua High School in American Samoa, where she is committed to inspiring students through hands-on, place-based learning that connects science to the culture and environment of American Samoa. With a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and comprehensive classroom experience, she strives to make science engaging and accessible for all learners. Beyond teaching, Vera is active in community projects and environmental stewardship, supporting future leaders and problem-solvers in her community.

Grants Awarded in 2025: NSHSS Experiential Learning Grants

Experiential learning programs can stimulate academic inquiry by promoting interdisciplinary learning, civic engagement, career development, cultural awareness, leadership, and other professional and intellectual skills. NSHSS is giving two (2) high school educators $1,000 grants to help provide experiential opportunities to their students and classrooms.
