Members were honored in New York City!

On Saturday, September 20, NSHSS welcomed members and their families to NYC, New York, for a Member Event at Columbia University!

This one-day event included a networking breakfast, engaging educational sessions, and a College & Career Fair. The event ended with the NSHSS Member Recognition Ceremony, where each member was honored and received an NSHSS medallion for their academic achievements!

Attendees gathered information from College & Career Fair exhibitors. NSHSS provided a catered continental breakfast for all event participants to enjoy while they speak to exhibitors and other members!

As a top admissions consulting company, they drew on their experience working with more than 8,000 families and shared their best tips and guidance for navigating the increasingly competitive undergraduate admissions process.

Horton Test Prep discussed the many changes with the exams going digital and the ACT making the Science section optional on their upcoming online version. Attendees learned what an adaptive digital exam is all about and how it can help with earning merit-based scholarships! Because it’s not just about getting into your dream school; it’s about being able to pay for it.

Figuring out how to choose the right college can feel overwhelming. That’s why HelloCollege created S.A.F.E. to help you identify and research the four most important factors to build a college list and develop a strategy to make the process easier.

The National Student Leadership Conference shared information about its exciting summer programs! The NSLC hosts career-focused leadership development conferences each summer for outstanding middle and high school students from all over the world. They provide opportunities to test drive a future career, develop critical leadership skills, hear from distinguished professionals, and experience life on a prestigious college campus in the US, Canada, and the UK, preparing students for their next steps in life while making new friends from across the globe.

Attendees joined us in learning how to "Make the Most of Your Summer Vacation with NSLC". Scholars learned more about NSLC summer conferences and their benefits for students looking to engage in a specific career area of interest.

Attendees had the chance to gather information from College & Career Fair exhibitors, explore the Columbia campus, and visit nearby eateries for lunch on their own.

Prequel taught students how to use AI tools like ChatGPT, Idea Finders, Lovable, Gamma, etc. to come up with a business idea and build a pitch deck.

Attendees learned about Columbia University’s academic enrichment programs for high school! Students delved into academic interests through exploratory coursework and connected with the Columbia community through activities and events. Students enrolled in grades 9–12 in fall 2025 were eligible to apply for the spring online 2026 term

Summer Discovery hosted a session detailing the programs they offer. 

Multiple NSHSS Members discussed how they made their college and scholarship applications stand out from the rest of the applicant pool, and members learned valuable tips on showcasing their academic and community accomplishments!

Members heard congratulatory remarks and were invited on stage to receive their own NSHSS honor medallion as part of their induction into the society!
