Members were honored at UCLA!

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, NSHSS welcomed members and their families to an unforgettable Member Event at the University of California, Los Angeles!

This one-day event included a networking breakfast, helpful information sessions, a College & Career Fair, and educational sessions. The event ended with the NSHSS Member Recognition Ceremony, where each member was honored and received an NSHSS medallion for their academic achievements!

Event Agenda

Attendees will check in with a digital or printed copy of their tickets, and members will receive name badges.

Attendees will be able to gather information from College & Career Fair exhibitors. NSHSS will provide a catered continental breakfast for all event participants to enjoy while they speak to exhibitors and other members!

Engage with all of the educational resources and organizations present in the CCF to help inform your colleague pursuits and applications.

NSHSS will welcome attendees to campus; then, UCLA admissions staff or students will guide them through an informative presentation about the university.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how personalized college advising can give students a meaningful edge in the college application process. You’ll learn how one-on-one guidance from experienced advisors supports students at every stage, from crafting standout admissions essays to navigating financial aid and preparing for alumni interviews.

By the end of the session, you’ll understand how individualized advising helps students from all backgrounds approach college applications with confidence, clarity, and a strategic plan tailored to their goals.

In this session, test prep expert Leia LeMaster Horton, M.Ed., founder of Horton Test Prep, shares proven strategies to help students raise their ACT, CLT, and SAT scores and position themselves for significant merit-based scholarships. Families will learn how strong test scores can open doors to top universities and reduce college costs.

Winners of NSHSS scholarships will be presented on stage, hear congratulatory remarks, and then all present NSHSS members will receive their own NSHSS honor medallion in this closing ceremony.

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Exhibitor Set-up

8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: College & Career Fair Open

9:30 AM - 11:15 AM: College & Career Fair Closed (doors will be closed, exhibitors can leave during this time)

11:15 AM - 1:00 PM: College & Career Fair Open

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Exhibitor Move-out
